Demo of NLP and Automatic Crosswalk to Telephone Triage Guidelines
This short video demonstrates the Health Navigator capability of automatically recommending the best and most relevant Schmitt-Thompson telephone triage guideline.
The video shows the use case of a 2-year old with a runny nose and a cough. The demo begins with natural language processing (NLP) to identify the child’s main symptom or problem, using Health Navigator’s proprietary clinical vocabulary of Coded Chief Complaints. The nurse user selects the primary chief complaint. The demo application automatically “pops” the best and most relevant Schmitt-Thompson telephone triage guidelines for this child. It lists the guidelines first in descending order of “best choice” and then alphabetically.
