Jeffrey Schwartz, MD, FACEP
Jeffrey Schwartz, MD, is the president of Health Navigator, Inc. He brings extensive clinical, management and patient-care insights to reach Health Navigator’s goals of capturing, organizing, and presenting a better, more efficient eHealth encounter. Dr. Schwartz previously served as chief medical officer for Schumacher Clinical Partners and ECI Healthcare Partners, two of the largest physician management companies in the nation.
Prior to Health Navigator, Dr. Schwartz was a consultant for Kurzweil Applied Intelligence, creator of multiple artificial intelligence and speech recognition technologies and co-founder of Treatment Scores, software designed to quantify the efficacy behind medical treatments using evidence based medicine. He has published research in emergency medicine forums, including The Annals of Emergency Medicine and The American Journal of Emergency Medicine. As an expert in emergency department operations, Dr. Schwartz has worked with hospitals around the country helping them to improve their operational efficiency.
Dr. Schwartz also lectures and leads discussions on the topic of “Paradigms in Emergency Medicine” as it applies to the many changes facing this specialty, while also hosting seminars on topics including customer service, physician accountability, new technology and the use of electronic medical records.
Dr. Schwartz received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Northwestern University. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati and completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Illinois. He is board-certified in emergency medicine and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
